I am a nurse lecturer with a background in chronic pain management. I completed my nurse training in 1989 and my PhD in 2012. In my PhD I explored how pain in osteoarthritis is transmitted in the body. My science and nursing background and experience help me to understand many health conditions and work out how to best help people.
I live in Bewdley with my husband, son, and two working Cocker Spaniels. I love nature and walking in the forest. I am also keen on wild swimming and paddle boarding. When I am not doing those things you will find me busy with a book or some crochet.
Level 5 Diploma in Clinical Reflexology from the Integrated Reflexology Consortium. PhD in Health Sciences from the University of Birmingham (Neurotransmission of osteoarthritis pain). Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. MSc in Health Sciences from the University of Birmingham. Registered General Nurse from Charles Frear's School of Nursing, Leicester.
I have a longstanding interest in chronic pain, particularly how to manage it without the use of drugs (which are often not all that helpful). I have found that reflexology can make an enormous difference to many painful conditions including arthritis, fibromyalgia, migraine and headaches, plantar fasciitis and more. My clinical background also helps me to understand the other therapies and interventions that you might be offered alongside reflexology.
